Great depth and rock with beautiful ergonomics, and balance.
This one is a proper workhorse with a bit of flash.
It might look like a big, heavy blade at first glance, but don’t be fooled — thanks to a clean C-grind and dialled-in geometry, it feels light, balanced, and super easy to handle. Balance point is right on the ricasso, so it’s poised and responsive in use.
The upswept edge makes for smooth rocking on the board and it just glides through food with great release.
For the handle I’ve gone with 5600-year-old stabilised bog oak, which has some lovely medullary rays running through it. The carbon fiber and brass composite ferrule ties it together nicely — modern meets ancient, with a bit of shine and contrast.
Really happy with how this one turned out — it performs beautifully and has a striking, purposeful look.
